The Cryogenic Systems Specialist is responsible for performing and supervising the construction and operation of cryogenic systems used to achieve the ultra-low temperatures required for experiments and supporting capabilities in the SNOLAB underground and surface laboratories. These systems include both commercial and custom-design cooling solutions featuring dilution refrigerators, cryocoolers, cryogenic traps and dewars, gas manifolds, chillers, and reliquifiers. The role includes monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining specialized systems and related vacuum equipment, piping, and instrumentation. The role supports the training of SNOLAB staff and users ensuring the safe operation of experimental and laboratory systems, including safe handling of cryogens, compressed gases, and related equipment.
