Academic and research excellence was on display last Friday when students from the Fall 2025 cohort of students presented on their work at the student talk symposium. This symposium, done at the end of each work term, has students from diverse research backgrounds present on what they completed over the term. The audience: a mix of supervisors, their peers, and the broader SNOLAB community. This opportunity allows students to talk about their research in a supportive setting, but also provides room for growth in public speaking.
Organizer of the Student Talk Symposium and Research Scientist, Dr. Christine Kraus, says “It is great to hear students talking about the experience at SNOLAB and the work they conducted. Everybody is very well prepared – making this an exciting event at the end of the work term to celebrate their knowledge gained.”
Each term, the top presenters from the symposium are selected based on criteria that looks at their plots, oral presentation, slide design, content, and overall effectiveness of the presentation. This term, three winners and an honourable mention were awarded.

A special congratulations to all winners from this term, who who stood out for their well-articulated talks and cohesive answers to tough questions that were asked by the audience. Good luck to all the students on their future endeavours in their education and careers!
