Last week, 15 students had the opportunity to compete in the Winter 2024 SNOLAB Student Talk Competition, a tradition at the end of each term for the students. This provided the opportunity to showcase all their hard work throughout the term, and to improve their presentation skills.
With a wide variety of topics which ranged from zeolites to seismic monitoring, there were a lot of interesting talks presented. A big congratulations to each student that presented their work from the past term. The winners of the talks were selected based on their presentation skills, understanding of their work, and how they answered the questions that came from the audience.
First place: John Deligiannis, talk titled: “Nitrogen Production Using Zeolites”
Second place: Lyra Collins, talk titled “DDA QA Development”
Third place: Margaret MacRitchie, talk titled “Cryogenic Distillation of Nitrogen and Argon”
Honourable mention: Callum Irving, talk titled: “SNO+ Neck Cut Analysis”
Congratulations to all the participants in the 2024 Winter Student Talk Competition! We can’t wait to see what you do next!
