SNOLAB Photowalk submissions open for public voting

August 23, 2018 — Events

This past June, SNOLAB joined 18 major science facilities around the world to take part in the Global Physics Photowalk. Seventeen amateur and professional photographers were invited on a journey deep underground (2km to be exact!) to SNOLAB to explore the lab and capture images of the science and infrastructure through their own lens. The experience was one of-a-kind and the photo submissions were stunning.

Each photographer submitted their favourite 5 photos and from those, a local jury selected 3 to send to the global competition taking place at CERN this fall. SNOLAB is now opening it up for members of the public to choose their favorites. Public voting will take place until August 31st and votes can be cast through SNOLAB’s Facebook page. The full photo album can be found here: https://goo.gl/TJwpsc

Once voting concludes on August 31st, the winning photos will be announced and included, along with an image from each photographer in a local exhibit that will run at Science North during Science Literacy Week (September 17-21) and at the Laurentian University School of Architecture for the month of October.
