Academic excellence on display at Student Talk Symposium

April 24, 2025 — Events

Last week, eleven undergraduate students completed their winter work term at SNOLAB by contributing to the Student Talk Symposium. They presented on a diverse range of topics ranging from neutron flux measurements to sensor developments.

The SNOLAB Student Talk Symposium provides students an opportunity to hone their presentation skills in a supportive setting, while also sharing their research projects and skills they developed with peers, supervisors, and other interested individuals from the SNOLAB community.

“It’s so inspiring to see what students achieve with their research in their work terms at SNOLAB”, said head judge and SNOLAB Research Scientist, Dr. Christine Kraus, “The students all did an excellent job presenting their research and answered challenging questions with confidence – it makes the judges task of selecting winners all the more challenging. All the students that had the opportunity to present again in their second term showed substantial development in their contributions, as well! It is so important for students to develop these public speaking and presentation skills.”

A special congratulations to the winners of this term’s symposium who stood out for their engaging, well-articulated talks and impressive responses to questions from both the judge panel and the audience.
