Experiments Which Have Used the SNOLAB Facilities

COUPP COUPP -- Chicagoland Observatory for Underground Particle Physics (E961)
COUPP was an experiment originally developed in the underground MINOS near detector hall at Fermilab to demonstrate the performace of heavy liquid, room temperature, bubble chambers as Dark Matter detectoris. Later the detectors were relocated to SNOLAB as COUPP-4 and COUPP-60.
DAMIC DAMIC -- Dark Matter In CCDs
The DAMIC experiment employs a new technique for searching for the elusive particles that we think make up most of the matter in the universe dark matter.
DEAP DEAP -- Dark matter Experiment using Argon Pulse shape discrimination
The program consists of DEAP-1 and DEAP-3600. DEAP-1 was a 7 kg prototype experiment and DEAP-3600 is the larger full size experiment. DEAP will search for dark matter particle interactions on liquid argon.
DM-ICE DM-ICE
A Search for Dark Matter at the South Pole Using NaI detectors.
DRIFT DRIFT -- Directional Recoil Identification from Tracks
The DRIFT detector is a second generation dark matter detector designed for the detection of Weakly Interactive Massive Particles (WIMPs)
EXO EXO -- Enriched Xenon Observatory
EXO is an experiment which will attempt to measure the mass of the neutrino and determine its nature, Majorana or Dirac.
HALO HALO -- The Helium And Lead Observatory
The HALO detector is used to detect supernovae.
MINICLEAN MiniCLEAN -- Cryogenic Low-Energy Astrophysics with Noble Liquids
This experiment detects dark matter using the unique capabilities of liquid argon for discrimination between electromagnetic backgrounds and nuclear-recoil events. CLEAN is unique in its ability to exchange the liquid argon target with liquid neon in the same detector, offering potential to the discovery of WIMP dark matter in a "beam-on, beam-off" approach.
NEWS at SNOLAB NEWS -- New Experiments with Spheres
The NEWS experiment is developing gaseous spherical detectors for multiple particle detection.
PICASSO PICASSO -- Project in Canada to Search for Supersymmetric Objects
The PICASSO experiment used a fluorine loaded active liquid C4F10, which was dispersed in the form of 50-100 µm diameter droplets in a polymerized or viscous medium.
PICO PICO
The PICO Collaboration (formed from the merger of two existing groups, PICASSO and COUPP) uses bubble chambers to search for galactic dark matter.
SNO SNO -- Sudbury Neutrino Observatory
Heavy water (D2O) Cherenkov detector used to study the properties of solar neutrinos. SNO is known for helping resolve the "solar neutrino problem." Located in the Creighton Mine in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.
SNO+ SNO+
The SNO+ experiment is a new experiment using the existing SNO detector. By replacing the heavy water used in the SNO experiment with liquid scintillator, the detector will able to study low energy solar neutrinos, geoneutrinos and reactor neutrinos as well as conduct a supernova search. The SNO+ experiment will also add neodymium to search for neutrinoless double beta decay in 150Nd.
