SNO Ready to Brave New Frontiers

The Sudbury Neutrino Observatory's plan to study geoneutrinos to answer some of the burning questions about our planet will be featured this month in an American science magazine.

The story, in the Jan. 17 issue of Science News, is about examining geoneutrinos to learn more about the Earth's inner chemistry. The story highlights the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory Plus experiment, or SNO+, planned for the Vale Inco Creighton Mine.

"I think it's great to describe what our projects are doing ... to the general public," said Fraser Duncan, associate director of operations at SNOLAB. "We are very excited about the physics that we are doing, why we are doing the science and what it can contribute to society."
