Traveling to SNOLAB from the Sudbury Area
Directions to SNOLAB from the Sudbury Airport:
From the airport grounds turn right onto Regional Road 86.
Turn left at the first stop sign. You will still be on Regional Road 86.
Turn right at the next stop sign. You will still be on Regional Road 86.
At the next set of lights turn left onto the Garson-Coniston Road (Regional Road 90).
At the next stop sign turn right onto Highway 17
At the second set of traffic lights turn left onto Highway 17 W (Southwest Bypass).
Stay on the Southwest Bypass (~20-25km) until you reach the exit for Lively - Regional Road 55. Take this exit.
At the second set of lights exit right onto Regional Road 24 (you will see a Tim Horton’s, Independent Grocer's).
Continue on Regional Road 24 through the town of Lively. After about 5.5 km you will come to a large yellow Creighton Mine sign. Exit to the right.
Follow this mine road until you reach Creighton Mine #9 Shaft. You will have to stop at the security gate. Proceed through the gate to the surface building.
Traveling to SNOLAB from Toronto
Sudbury has a local airport (Sudbury Airport YSB), where rental cars or taxis are available for transport to hotels. Travelers may also choose to rent a car from Toronto Airport and drive approximately 4.5 hours to Sudbury.
